Universal Health Care

In San Mateo County 1 out of 10 adults are without health insurance.
 

Escalating health care costs are pinching our City's core services. In FY2021 the City of San Mateo paid $6.9M in medical costs and an additional $700k in dental care for our employees. Health care costs are expected to increase over 7.25% annually and our municipalities are struggling to keep pace.
 

I believe San Mateo should stand up and state our values in a resolution supporting universal health care for all. [Read the San Mateo Daily Journal article.]
